Explore a variety of surface decorating techniques, from those applied to wet clay in the forming process, to techniques in addition to glaze that can be done to bisqueware. We will focus on a different decorating technique each week. You will bring bisque or leather hard work each week to class depending on the technique that will be covered. Nothing needed for the first class, you will be making and decorating wet slabs to build with. All techniques can be adapted to wheel thrown work or handbuilt work, so use whatever techniques you love to make your work!
*Summer classes include 1/2 bag (12.5 pounds of clay), and the glazing and firing of that clay. Additional clay may be purchased by the 25# bag if needed. Beginner tool kits may be purchased for $24 ($25.50 with tax).
Classes also include ample access to the studio during posted open studio hours. Ceramics is an art form that benefits from practice and social time outside of class time.
Refunds will not be given within one week of the beginning of class. A $25 processing fee will be retained from any refund. If a class must be cancelled due to low enrollment, a full refund will be given.
