Come explore making jars, boxes and lidded forms using the wheel as well as hand building techniques! This course will cover a range of possibilities for creating containers, flanges, lids, knobs and finials. We will get comfortable using calipers to throw well fitting lids and use handbuilding techniques such as slab and coil to create boxes and non-circular forms. This class is for students with some clay experience, and wheel projects can be adapted for those who want to focus on handbuilding skills.
*All 6 week classes include 12.5 pounds of clay (1/2 bag), and the glazing and firing of that clay Additional clay may be purchased by the 25# bag if needed. Tools available in the Tiny Tool Shop.
Classes also include ample access to the studio during posted open studio hours. Ceramics is an art form that benefits from practice and social time outside of class time.
Refunds will not be given within one week of the beginning of class. A $25 processing fee will be retained from any refund. If a class must be cancelled due to low enrollment, a full refund will be given.
