Ocarinas are an ancient musical wind instrument believed to date back as afar as 12,000 years. In this 3 week session you will learn how to make musical instruments from clay that really work, as well as a little of their history! Creating the whistle mechanism and  placing holes to control tone are just the technical components. From there, you will be able to explore creative forms and finishes to make your ocarinas uniquely your own. This class uses primarily the pinch method of forming, and is suitable for all levels, from beginners to those proficient in clay but wanting to add a great new trick to your “toolbox”.

Materials are included, but this workshop does not include open studio access outside of class time. Please register for the Open Studio Mini Session if you wish to use the studio outside of this workshop.

Refunds will not be given within one week of the beginning of class. A $25 processing fee will be retained from any refund. If a class must be cancelled due to low enrollment, a full refund will be given.
