Create unique pieces using the surface decoration technique called mocha diffusion. You will learn how to prepare the materials, from making your own slip to creating different liquid mediums and experimenting with how the different mediums and ceramic stain colors create different patterns, and then apply the technique to your leather hard pieces before bisque firing.
Bring 4-6 leather hard pots. A mixture of pots with horizontal/flat surfaces (spoon rest, tray, plate, etc.) as well as vertical surfaces (mug, vase, etc.) is ideal for exploring this technique. Some leather hard tiles will be prepared ahead for experimentation.
All students will leave with a container of slip, and a sample of colored liquid medium to continue experimentation at home.
Refunds will not be given within one week of the beginning of class. A $25 processing fee will be retained from any refund. If a class must be cancelled due to low enrollment, a full refund will be given.
