Longing to try something different with clay? Want to let your imagination loose? This hand-building class is for you!
Using simple pinch and coil methods, and working at the pace that’s most comfortable for you, this class will support you in building simple abstract, hollow sculptural forms. The course will cover all aspects of coiled forms:
making a stable base, joining the coils, balance, building the form, and surface treatment/glazing.

There will be plenty of demonstrations and individual instruction throughout. This course is designed as a playful and creative process, suitable for all levels of experience– wheel throwers and hand-builders alike! It’s a wonderful introduction to sculptural ceramics that is both meditative and fun!

*All classes include 25 pounds of clay and the glazing and firing of those 25#, though we encourage you to pay what you can for materials, as costs continue to rise. You will be provided an option on checkout to pay for your clay. Additional clay may be purchased if needed. Beginner tool kits may be purchased for $24 ($25.50 including tax).

Classes also include ample access to the studio during posted open studio hours. Ceramics is an art form that benefits from practice and social time outside of class time.

Refunds will not be given within one week of the beginning of class. A $25 processing fee will be retained from any refund. If a class must be cancelled due to low enrollment, a full refund will be given.
