Have you been curious about trying the potter’s wheel but not sure if a longer format class is right for you? Come join the owner of Meetinghouse Clay Center for a four week mini-class. We will cover the basics of using a potter’s wheel, from preparing your clay and tool basics, to centering, opening, pulling and shaping, and then trimming our pieces for a more finished look. Every participant will end the class with multiple pieces that will be fired through the first stage, called bisque. This class pairs perfectly with Glaze Basics, a one day workshop on the basics of glazing your pieces, which will be held on Tuesday, May 20 from 9:30-12:30, or pieces can also be kept in their bisque stage until you choose to take a class in the future, or even painted with acrylic paints for a decorative but non-food safe finish.
All materials and tools provided, however we have basic tool kits available if you get hooked and think you may want to continue!
Refunds will not be given within one week of the beginning of class. A $25 processing fee will be retained from any refund. If a class must be cancelled due to low enrollment, a full refund will be given.
